fiction successfully is determined by your level of hardwork, imagination and
passion. We present to you 14 great tips to help achieve your dream as a
bestselling fiction author.
1. Read everything as much as you can. You can never tell
where the idea to a good story can come from.
2. Have a comfortable place and time that spurs up your
imagination and aids you write efficiently.
3. Make sure you introduce your main characters plot/themes
and major element in the first third of your story.
4. Do not plan your ending in the planning phase of your
story. It has to be earned by all that goes before it.
5. Always carry a note book. You never can tell when that great idea comes up. It can easily be forgotten if not written down.
6. To be effective, stay away from all distraction.
7. Read it aloud to yourself to confirm anyone would like the rhythm of the sentences.
8. Use your imagination; for instance, do not say the moon is shinning, instead say something like the glint of light on broken glass. The idea is to put pictures in the mind of the reader.
9. Listen to the criticisms of your first reader and make necessary adjustments.
10. A personal adventure will help write a good story.
11. Never panic, see beyond derisive reviews, embarrassment from friends and family, dwindling income and the failing career.
12. Be your own editor and critic. Be merciless about it.
13. The rule of thumb in that the exclamation points should be two or three in every one hundred thousand words.
14. You should always bear in mind that, that sickening feeling of inadequacy and over-exposure when you look at your own prose will never leave you. You should cherish it.
