I stayed up late until I finished the whole book. Interesting from the first page to the last.
I loved how smart the people in the story all were, not a dumb idiot among them. And even though I thought I figured out who did it from the beginning - I was wrong, and wrong again, and even wrong at the very end. Loved this book.
I love that there is a happy ending. But I hope there will be a sequel with the daughter as the main character and wonder what she'll be like when she grows up. She has so much potential and could go in any direction of her choosing. Even though she wasn't the main character, I found her to be the most interesting and intriguing.
However, I would NOT suggest this book for a young adult because even though the daughter is amazingly intelligent and industrious, she is capable of deceit and rebelling against her mom, and the book discusses sex, drugs, rape and killing. But even though I can't normally handle a book like that, I had no problem with this book because it lacks in-depth gory details, and has a hopeful ending. Enjoy!
